18 October 2011Villa Flora is justifiably one of the iconic structures on the Floriade park. And not just by virtue of its impressive architecture; Villa Flora is a landmark of sustainability and the epicentre of the cradle-to-cradle philosophy on which the Floriade is based.
After a construction period of a year, Villa Flora was opened in festive style at the beginning of the month. Around 250 guests were invited by Regio Venlo - the owner of the building - to attend the opening of Villa Flora where they enjoyed an amazing programme of culture, gastronomy and architecture.
During the Floriade, Villa Flora will house an impressive exhibition of floral art presented by the Dutch floristry sector, entitled Green Emotion. Top flower arrangers and floral artists will be making new creations in the theatre in Villa Flora every day; a process you can see at close hand. A number of countries will also be exhibiting in the building, including Japan, Israel, Belgium and Bhutan. Villa Flora also features a restaurant.
When the Floriade ends, Villa Flora will form part of the Venlo GreenPark business park. Various companies will have offices here.
