In order to demonstrate its commitment to global developments in the food & agri markets, the Rabobank - as part of its foundership of Floriade 2012 - has decided to present a pavilion to the general public. This pavilion, where the focus is on edutainment, is called: 'Rabo Earthwalk'. The Rabo Earthwalk is a hemisphere, so that visitors can 'walk across the roof of the world'. The pavilion will be located in the Environment zone, where the influence of horticulture on the way we live and work in our daily lives is central. The long term consumer trend apparent in this part of the park is 'preserve': perpetuate, protect. A subject that is widely discussed. How can we preserve and protect the earth in a responsible manner.
The Rabo Earthwalk is an amazing attraction which will use a spectacular film, that plays at your feet, to give visitors an experience of the flows that transverse the globe every day to enable us to live as we do today. The film relates the tale of how humans work the land and how flows of food, water, energy, data and of course money are created. Flows that move across the earth 24/7. As the leading financier in the food & agri sector, Rabobank is involved in this movement on a national and international level.
As well as the incredible film, an important role is reserved for so-called 'glocalizers'. Intrepid and enterprising individuals with ambition, initiators of local initiatives with a global impact. These 'glocalizers' contribute to making the world better, more prosperous and/or more sustainable, in a way that is successful and appealing. Visitors will recognise the driving ambitions of these people behind each story. During their visit to the Earthwalk, visitors will encounter ten glocalizers on four different levels.
