Floriade Kids
There will be daily activities for children at Floriade 2012. We will also be offering a special school trips programme.
Floriade Kids Expedition
During Floriade 2012, children can discover the five worlds of horticulture (the five theme worlds) by going on an expedition around the grounds. All children up to age 12 will be given an expedition guide booklet at the entrance to Floriade. This expedition guide lists all the activities for children. In it you’ll find details of all the playgrounds, The Willowman, the Cultural Heritage route, an animal route and all the participants offering activities for children. The expedition guide also contains questions for the children to answer and assignments for them to perform.
Daily cultural and entertainment programme
There will be events and activities for children every day in our cultural and entertainment programme, ranging from theatre, dance and acrobatics to singing and music. Besides these daily activities, also look out for the Floriade Kids Theme Week in the May school holidays (30 April-6 May), during which we are staging a number of different events specifically designed for children.
Our mascots Flora and Florian will also be attending every day.
Playgrounds
Every Theme World has its own themed playground next to the restaurant. So we have incorporated various play elements into the park:
- Environment: next to the Beach Club there will be a play ship with climbing rocks.
- Green Engine: a climbing net and other play equipment
- Relax & Heal: The Barefoot Path
- Education & Innovation: a playground featuring optical and visual play equipment (periscope, mirrors, a rotating wheel in which pictures appear)
- World Show Stage: water delta by the Water Pavilion
- Adventure trail along the boardwalk through the woods
- Adventure trail along the lake by Theaterheuvel
